Shygirl said that the cancelation will allow her to get surgery for “an ongoing respiratory condition”
Shygirl announced on Friday that her co-headlining North American tour with Tinashe was cancelled, citing an “ongoing respiratory condition.”
In an update posted to Instagram, the U.K. musician said she was “heartbroken” over the decision. “Devastated to share that due to an ongoing respiratory condition I’ve been forced to make the difficult decision to cancel my appearances on the upcoming US tour on the advice of my doctor that I can no longer delay surgery,” she wrote. Shygirl added, “My thoughts also go to Tinashe and Uniiqu3 as we were all so looking forward to this tour together.”
Tinashe also expressed her disappointment over the cancellation but in a separate statement said, “THE SHOW MUST GO ON!” The singer hinted that she and her team have been “working tirelessly” to put together her own tour that will be announced in the “the coming weeks.”
“This new show is absolutely incredible and I can’t wait to show you what we have been working so hard on,” she said before signing off: “I love you all & promise to see you soon.”
Last month, Tinashe appeared on Good Morning America to perform her single, “Tightrope,” off her new album BB/Ang3L. “I think it really represents who I am as a person right now, and everything I’ve been going through, and my life,” she told host Michael Strahan of her sixth studio release, calling her music “a melting pot of all things.”
