How to Get Tickets to the ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ Movie Online Now

Film

Hello? Hello, hello? Just calling to inform you that even though we’re still a few days away from actual Halloween, tickets are on sale online now for the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, the long-awaited video game adaptation hailing from Universal and horror film powerhouse, Blumhouse. Much like 2022’s Halloween Ends, the film is getting a hybrid rollout in theaters and on Peacock — starting Friday, October 27.

Based on the wildly successful survival horror games created by Scott Cawthon, Freddy‘s follows struggling security guard Mike Schmidt (played by Hunger Games alum Josh Hutcherson), who takes a job watching over an old-school pizza parlor-arcade hybrid (ala Chuck E. Cheese) that went under in the Eighties. But the old building hides a nasty secret: The restaurant’s animatronic performers get a little quirky at night. Possessed by vengeful souls of dead children, Schmidt is tasked with stopping their murderous rampage before it’s too late.

Whether you’re a long-time fan of the game and have played through every one of Scott’s “final” iterations (remember when we thought FNaF 3 was the end?), are heavily involved with lore and Let’s Player circles online (those of you hoping for a Markiplier or MatPat cameo might be sorely disappointed), or are just looking for a good thrill, we’ve got you covered. Tickets are selling out fast, so if you want to find the best way to watch the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie online, read on.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Rating, Run Time, Plot

Five Nights at Freddy’s has a run time of 1 hour and 50 minutes and is rated PG-13 for “strong violent content, bloody images and language.” This is a Halloween horror slasher flick, after all.

The cast includes Elizabeth Lail (YouMack & Rita), Kat Conner Sterling (We Have a Ghost9-1-1), Mary Stuart Masterson (BlindspotFried Green Tomatoes), and Matthew Lillard of Scream fame also co-starring.

The plot description reads, “Mike Schmidt, a troubled security guard, accepts a night-time job at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a once-successful but now abandoned family entertainment center, where he discovers its four animatronic mascots – Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy – move and kill anyone that is still there after midnight.”

Will There Be a Sequel to the Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie?

Are there plans in the works for a Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel? (There are 13 games in the franchise, after all). While nothing is officially confirmed, there is hope. “I think we would all feel so fortunate to be able to continue making movies in this universe and with these characters,” director Tammi said during an interview with SFX magazine. “It’ll all depend on how things go with this first one, but should we be lucky enough to make more I would absolutely want to be involved and would feel lucky to be included in those sequels, should they happen.”

In August 2018 on a Steam Community forum post, Cawthon wrote that if the first film were to be successful, there could be a second and third film, following the events of the second and third games, respectively. Lillard also revealed in January 2023 that he signed a three-picture deal with the studios.
