Bella Hadid has spoken out on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, calling the situation an “urgent humanitarian criss in Gaza that must be attended to.” Hadid, whose father Mohamed Hadid is a Palestinian immigrant and practicing Muslim, shared a post on her Instagram Thursday, where she also revealed that she’s been doxxed and has been sent “hundreds of death threats daily.”

“I can not be silenced any longer. Fear is not an option. The people and children of Palestine, especially in Gaza, cannot afford our silence. We are not brave – they are,” she wrote. “My heart is bleeding with pain fro the trauma I am seeing unfold as well as the generational trauma of my Palestinian blood.”

Hadid said she is currently in mourning with both the “mothers who have lost children” in Gaza, and also the “Israeli families that have been dealing with the pain and aftermath” of the Oct. 7 attack.

Hadid has been an outspoken supporter of the Free Palestine movement in the past and used her post to refer to her Palestinian descent on her father’s side who was born in 1948, when more than 700,000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes.

“My family witnessed 75 years of violence against Palestinian people, most notably, brutal settler invasions which led to the destruction of entire communities, murder in cold blod and the forcible removal of families from their homes,” she wrote. “The practice of settlements on Palestinian land still continues to this day. The pain of that is unimaginable.”

Hadid condemned “terrorist attacks on any civilians, anywhere” and “corrupt” governments that intertwine religion with their decision-making it, calling it “the greatest sin of all.”

“Wars have laws — and they must be upheld, no matter what. We need to keep pressure on our leaders, wherever we are, not to forget the urgent needs of the people of Gaza and to ensure that innocent Palestinian civilians are not forgotten casualties of this war,” she wrote. “I stand with humanity, knowing that peace and Safety belong to us all.”

Along with the letter, Hadid shared a video of a woman singing “Team” by Lorde while images of the aftermath of the conflict in Palestine flashed on screen.

Earlier this month, her sister Gigi Hadid condemned the “terrorizing of innocent people” and said it “is not in alignment with and does not do any good for the ‘Free Palestine’ movement.”

“There are a lot of complex, personal and valid feelings, but every human deserves basic rights, treatment and security; no matter their nationality, religion, ethnicity or where they were born,” she added. “I know my words will never be enough or heal the deep wounds of so many, but I pray for the safety of innocent lives, always.”
