Ho, ho, Koe…
Sorry, I had to.
Texas rocker Koe Wetzel is already in the Christmas spirit this year, as he’s gifting fans with a trio of Christmas songs coming on December 1st.
Radio Texas, Live! confirmed that covers of three Christmas standards are, in fact, on the way, which isn’t all that shocking if you follow Koe on social media.
He’s been hinting at being in the studio cooking up some tunes, and just the other day, retweeted (or re-Xed?) a fan on X (Twitter) saying that we “need a Koe Christmas album.”
That only came after this little nugget of wisdom, though…
“Christmas music is a natural aphrodisiac.”
More details about the project in terms of the specific songs and album title and cover are still forthcoming, so make sure you stay tuned for much more information very soon.
I, for one, can’t wait to hear each song and add it to my Christmas playlist ASAP (after Thanksgiving, of course). It sounds like we’ll finally have some fresh Christmas covers worth listening to, and this is certainly outside of the typical wheelhouse for Koe, which is intriguing in and of itself.
He got off the road from his very extensive Road to Hell Paso tour not long ago, and it looks like he’s been keeping busy in the studio singin’ Christmas tunes, and also out in the woods hunting:
Koe most recently dropped his fifth studio album Hell Paso in September of last year, and he’ll be appearing on an episode of the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast to talk about all of it very soon, so make sure you keep an eye out for that, too.
