Are We On the Brink of War With Iran? By Howard Bloom

Business, Politics, US News

CNN announced on Wednesday January 24th in a headline that “The US and Iran are dangerously close to confrontation in the Middle East.”

To support their point, CNN listed where America and Iran operate. First they focused on areas where Iran’s proxy armies are on the attack.  The list of these nations is disturbing: Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, the Gaza Strip, and Israel.

Then CNN pointed out the places where America has stationed its forces—Kuwait, where America has 13,500 troops, Qatar with 10,000, Saudi Arabia with 2,700, the UAE with 3,500, Jordan with 3,000, Turkey with 1,465, and Bahrain, the really big one, where the US has its Navy’s Fifth Fleet and its Naval Forces Central Command.  All of these American troop concentrations protect Moslem nations with oil that is vital to the world.  And all these troops are subject to attack.  Which makes us strong, but vulnerable.

However, CNN believes that Iran is performing a delicate balancing act.  Tehran’s proxy armies are attacking our troops in Iraq and launching sophisticated anti-ship ballistic missiles at cargo vessels in the Red Sea.  And Iran’s puppets Hamas have started a war in Gaza.  But Iran is trying to avoid an all-out war with the United States.

Meanwhile, Iran is gaining from the Gaza War.  It calls its proxy forces in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank of Israel The Axis of Resistance.  And thanks to the war in Gaza, that Axis of Resistance is being praised in the Middle East.

The Gaza War is also distracting Iranians from the complaints that have triggered protests in their streets about the treatment of women since the death of Mahsa Amini in September of 2022.  It’s distracting the Lebanese from their collapsing economy.  It’s distracting attention from the ongoing civil war in Syria.

And it’s giving the Middle East’s citizens two things to cheer about–the so-called heroic deeds of Iran’s proxy armies in their fight against Israel and the United States.  And the success of Iran’s Axis of Resistance in rousing street demonstrations from Berlin and London to Los Angeles, demonstrations supporting Palestinian demands and demonizing Israel.

But, says CNN, Iran does not want an all-out war with America.  Why?  Because CNN says Iran’s proxy armies would be wiped out, and Iran would be stripped of its prestige. However, CNN forgets something—Iran’s probable nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile behind all of this is something you will never see:  the genocidal goals of the Iranian Islamic Revolution’s founder, the Ayatollah Khomeini.  Goals you could glimpse in a meeting last week between “Dr. Ali Komsari, the head of [Iran’s] institute for compilation and publication of” the Ayatollah Khomeini’s works and “the leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq.”

The two men agreed that the “’Islamic resistance’ is deeply…rooted in…[the] ideals of” the founder of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini.  But that’s not all.  They also agreed that “worldwide… all awakening among… free-minded people owed to” Ayatollah Khomeini.  “All those freedom and justice-seeking and oppressed people…had been inspired by” Khomeini’s “ideals.”

And what were the ideals planted by modern Iran’s founder, the Ayatollah Khomeini?  Global conquest. A global jihad. Said the Ayatollah, Any non-Islamic “power, whatever form or shape, is necessarily an atheistic power, the tool of Satan…we have no recourse other than to overthrow all governments that do not rest on pure Islamic principles.”

Continued Iran’s Ayatollah, “If Islamic civilization had governed the West, we would no longer have to put up with these barbaric goings-on unworthy even of wild animals…. Misdeeds must be punished by the law of retaliation: cut off the hands of the thief; kill the murderer instead of putting him in prison; flog the adulterous woman or man.  Your concerns, your ‘humanitarian’ scruples, are more childish than reasonable.”

And, finally the Ayatollah declared proudly that, “Islam has obliterated many tribes because they were” not Islamic.  And, in the Ayatollah’s view, there would be more genocides to come.

Against whom? Remember what Iranian crowds chant many times a year, the slogan of the Ayatollah’s revolution, “Death to America.”  And don’t forget Iran’s nukes.
