The pop band has rescheduled a number of tour dates while the frontman recovers
Paul Jason Klein, frontman of the pop band LANY, is recovering from injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter last week. The singer shared news of the accident on Instagram, where he posted two photos of himself in the hospital and at home in bandages and braces.
“Hey everyone – on Thursday night of last week, I got hit by a car while I was on my vespa heading home from the gym. I don’t really remember anything after the collision… I woke up on a stretcher being put into an ambulance,” Klein wrote. “I’ve cried a lot of thankful and happy tears during the last few days. I know how fortunate i am to still be here.”
The singer added that while his vitals are stable and improving, “walking and moving around is still a challenge. I’m getting progressively better though and will be at 100% really soon.”
LANY, which is made up of Klein and drummer Jake Goss, were scheduled to perform a run of shows in Australia and New Zealand from June 19 through June 30. The concerts will be rescheduled at the advisement of Klein’s doctors in order to “fast track my recovery,” he explained. New tour dates will be shared in the coming days.
“Thank you for understanding,” Klein continued. “This experience has only intensified the feelings of purpose I have, so I can’t wait to heal up and get back to it. All other tour dates are staying the same. I love you and this life deeply! See u soon.”
