Willie Nelson Slated To Return For ‘Outlaw Music Festival Tour’ Next Week

Back on the road again.

Today, Willie Nelson’s team put out a statement saying the country legend has been cleared to return to the stage, and will join the Outlaw Music Festival tour again next week.

He missed the first run of shows that kicked off last weekend in Alpharetta, Georgia and Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina, as well as the Virginia Beach stop last night, after his team said he wasn’t feeling well, and per doctor’s orders, had to rest for the first run of concerts.

Willie will miss the rest of the shows this weekend, though, so if you have tickets for the Outlaw Tour in Syracuse and Wantagh, New York or Holmdel, New Jersey, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and Celisse will still go on as openers, with his son Lukas filling in for his father as he’s done on the previous dates so far:

“Willie Nelson has been cleared by his doctors to go back on the road again. he will resume performing on the ‘Outlaw Tour’ next week. Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Celisse will perform as scheduled for all shows this weekend.

In addition, Lukas Nelson and Family along with some special guests will play his own set which will include Willie’s classics and other songs.”

It’s fantastic to hear that the red headed stranger is doing better and ready to be back doing what he does best next week:

And if you have tickets to attend the rest of the shows this weekend, I understand it’s very disappointing that Willie won’t be there, but Lukas did a phenomenal (for lack of a better word) job standing in for his father and playing all of his hits last weekend.

I’ve seen Lukas many times with his own band when he was the headliner, but seeing him sing his dad’s classics and do such a beautiful job was something I’ll never forget… seriously, you won’t want to miss, that either:
