It’s too much to expect that Fiona get exposed, caught, and carted off to jail in the space of a couple of weeks. I’ve watched this soap for long enough to know that it only ends stories quickly if it has some even more nefarious plan in mind for the characters.
Still, someone overhearing Fiona’s secret is a good start, especially when the eavesdropper is someone who is usually honest.
This Sarah hit-and-run story feels like a mashup of past stories. Sarah already got hit by a car when she was eight, and Brady already got accused of a serious crime while being unable to remember what really happened.
Talk about tired TV tropes! Days of Our Lives is ripping itself off.
Still, the fallout will be epic once the truth finally comes to light.
Xander’s reaction will be epic when he learns that the mother he begged Sarah not to invite to their wedding is the one who drove drunk and ran her over, and Maggie will be as disappointed as she was when she learned about Theresa’s bad behavior.

If Justin confronts her, she’ll probably lie her way out of it or try to convince him he misunderstood what he heard.
But if that doesn’t work, all bets are off. Fiona is not the kind of character you want to hang out with, and she wouldn’t be above blackmail or bribery if she thought it would get her out of trouble.
Of course, she shouldn’t have much leverage over Justin, but if she threatened Bonnie, that might do the trick.
Fake Abigail Faces Skepticism
Kristen Doesn’t Buy Her Story, But Will Chad Listen?
I hate when characters turn stupid for the sake of the plot.
Alarm bells should be ringing loudly for Chad because Jennifer insisted this woman was not her daughter. Instead, he’s angry at Jennifer for making “Abigail” uncomfortable.
Kristen’s not the most trustworthy person, nor does Chad particularly like her. He might not listen to her out of spite when she suggests “Abigail” isn’t who she says she is.
Still, the fact that two different people are convinced this stranger is not Abigail should make Chad think twice about what he thinks he knows.
Brady Confesses To A Crime He Didn’t Commit
Spoilers Say Jada Is Under Pressure To Close The Case
Although Brady didn’t run Sarah over, the mess he finds himself in will mostly be his own fault.
He’s continuing to drink with Fiona despite being horrified at his belief that he hit Sarah while driving drunk, but that’s the least of his sins.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-26-24 say that Brady will choose not to be forthcoming with Jada — which is his right, but likely isn’t smart in this case.
Jada will be under pressure from Xander to close the case.
Thus, when Brady confesses despite having no memory of the fateful night, she’ll probably take it at face value and arrest him, continuing the trend of subpar police work that often happens in Salem.
Sophia Manages To Cause Trouble After All

Uh oh. It sounds like there’s a split for the sake of drama coming.
Holly seemed to know that Sophia was acting desperate and stupid while her former best friend was in the room.

Just once, I’d love it if someone’s stupid and ridiculous plan to put a wedge between a couple didn’t work. Is that too much to ask?
Justin Gets An Earful About Fiona’s Guilt
The Million Dollar Question Is Whether He Understands What She Means
As discussed above, if Justin actually overhears that Fiona hit Sarah, she’ll probably resort to lying, gaslighting, or blackmail.
There’s an easier path forward, though: the tried and true plot twist of Justin thinking Fiona is talking about something completely different.
He could overhear something ambiguous or assume Fiona is feeling guilty that she didn’t drive Brady home rather than realizing she was driving Brady’s car that night.

So far, I haven’t found anybody who doesn’t hate it, and Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-26-24 suggest that now Connie is going to torment Melinda.
This obsessive love story feels like Whitley King 2.0, and the first one was bad enough!
As much as Melinda can be annoying, she’s also smart and tough, so maybe she’ll surprise everyone and get the better of Connie.
That would almost make this nonsense worth watching.
Gabi Puts The Next Step Of Her Plan In Motion
She Makes EJ A Surprising Offer
It’s no secret Gabi hates EJ, but right now, she hates Stefan more.
She has multiple paths to ruining Stefan’s life if she goes through EJ.
She and Stefan worked together to wrest EJ’s shares from him so they could run Dimera, but she could provide Stefan with some karma by switching allegiances now.
She can’t derail her wedding to Stefan to publicly humiliate him since they’re already married, but she could decide turnaround is fair play and jump into bed with EJ.
Connie Threatens Ava
Going Toe To Toe With The Former Mafia Princess Is Probably A Terrible Idea
Ava knows Melinda went to Connie’s apartment, so it’ll be impossible for Connie to stop her from figuring out who is responsible for Melinda’s disappearance.
In Connie’s mind, the next best thing would be to neutralize her. While there’s some logic to that, there is none to what Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-26-24 suggest will happen next: threatening Ava.
Ava is a former Mafia princess, so I don’t understand the show’s current obsession with making her seem easily intimidated. She should be able to squash the likes of Connie without much effort.
Maybe Connie will get distracted by the meta storyline and Ava and Melinda can overpower her while she’s watching Body & Soul.
Why not? That would make as much sense as anything else in this story.
Jada Runs A Sad Errand
She Delivers Everett’s Ashes To Stephanie
I keep expecting Days of Our Lives to engage in its most overused plot device again and somehow make Everett/Bobby come back to life.
But maybe he’ll stay dead. It certainly seems like it, with Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-26-24 indicating that Jada will bring Everett’s ashes to Stephanie.
The two will probably grieve together since Jada was beginning to fall for Bobby again when he died.
Hopefully, no one carries the ashes around endlessly like Anna did when she thought Tony was dead.
