Well, that was short-lived.
If you follow Zach Bryan on Twitter, you might have seen the Eagles fan share a post shortly after reactivating his account, making a statement regarding his football commentary. ZB is no stranger to a Twitter rant, often going on late-night conversations, sharing random thoughts, or answering fans’ questions.
Last football season, the Oklahoma native was all gas no breaks during the NFL season, sharing some hot takes, heated comments, and of course, a little sh*t talk. However, since ZB is a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, some of his opinions were not welcomed by fans who support other NFL teams, leading him to vow not to talk about football on social media.
He shared with his followers on September 1st that he took an oath to “never Tweet about football season during football season” and knew he would be tested but was hoping to hold steadfast with the promise to himself.
I oathed a long time ago to never tweet during football season about football season again, we will be trialed and we will be tested https://t.co/l69QxLtYEH

Last night was ZB’s first great test as the NFL opener took place in Kansas City, with the Chiefs defeating the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens were heartbroken being a toe short of a game-tying touchdown, but the electric game was one helluva start for the 2024/2025 NFL season.
There was much commentary on Twitter last night, from the close-call TD to fans hating the NFL showing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce looking like Uncle Rico. Social media was on fire last night, and sports and NFL Twitter are officially BACK.
The thrilling season opener tested many fans, including those who were not even rooting for the teams playing…like Zach Bryan.
ZB did not last very long with his oath to “never Tweet about football season during football season.” Although his comments were very mild, this first test truly tested him, so I can only imagine what will hit our timelines as the season progresses. Personally, I am glad that this oath was short-lived.
I love the unhinged commentary and never knowing what you will read from the “Pink Skies” singer when you open the app.
Check out some of his Tweets from last night.
That was honestly the best season opener a person can ask for https://t.co/0N7RHbU8CF

We have to get a taunting call in this game just for old times sake right
