The perfect song to fire up going into the weekend.
Jon Pardi is back and better than ever. After taking some time away from the recording studio to settle into the role of Dad for his two baby girls, he’s itching to make new music. The California native teased a saucy new single across social media, quickly building the hype before releasing the track for fans to enjoy.
Before releasing the single to his fans, Pardi expressed his excitement that this next chapter of his career will be one of his best yet.
“‘Friday Night Heartbreaker’ kicks down the door of this next musical chapter. I challenged myself to elevate in every aspect, and this is the tip of the spear for what’s to come. When I first heard the song, I knew instantly that I had to cut it… and what a journey it was recording alongside the professor [and producer] Jay Joyce.
I’m as excited as I have ever been to share new music.”
“Friday Night Heartbreaker” is the perfect single to follow his last record, Mr. Saturday Night. The swanky melody of the track instantly draws you in, and a catch guitar riff is the cherry on top of the cake. Before Pardi sings a word, you know this song will be a heater. The captivating melody is the perfect pair to the lyrics describing an alluring woman who might not influence the narrator well.
The opening lines detail the feeling he has catching a look at this beauty, and as the story unfolds, the man is stuck making a tough choice between entertaining time with this woman, knowing it will lead him to a broken heart, or having the willpower to walk away.
“Better run, better run, better run, never look back
Let her walk, let her walk, let her walk, you don’t want that
Once you get hit with that venom
Get your head and tail spinnin’
Denim swervin’ up them curves
Drinkin’ like it might be worth it…”
Given the description of this captivating woman, it makes perfect sense why Pardi chose to tease the single with pictures of his stunning wife. However, I don’t think Pardi is worried his wife is doing him wrong.
This one is well worth firing off.
