Darius Rucker Says Of Course Artists Hook Up With Fans: “If Somebody Says No, They’re Lying”

Music

Darius telling it like it is.

I don’t think it’s any secret that being a famous musician (or famous anything, really) comes with certain… let’s just call them “perks.”

Whether you’re talking about rockstars or rappers, famous athletes, or even actors, we can all point to celebrities who have excelled in other areas of life, outside of the chosen profession. I mean, what do Gene Simmons, Wilt Chamberlain and Leonardo DiCaprio all have in common? They are just as known for their bedroom escapades as they are for their careers in music, sports and Hollywood.

All of that to say… being famous gets you laid. Hell, sometimes you don’t even have to be that famous. Just holding a guitar in local dive can get you laid too. And according to Darius Rucker, country music is no exception.

In a conversation with 100.7 The Tiger last year, Darius Rucker wasn’t afraid to say the quiet part out loud when asked if he’s ever hooked up with a fan. Of course, Darius Rucker has had a long career, beginning back in the late ’80s as the frontman for the rock band, Hootie and the Blowfish, so I think it’s safe to say he’s had ample opportunities.

And he isn’t ashamed to say so:

“Of course… of course… if somebody says no, they’re lying.”

It might be the most captain obvious statement of the year, but you have to at least appreciate the honesty.

So many country artists would step up to the interview with there label-approved script of neat and polished answers to questions. Some even want the answers ahead of time so they can coach their artists on what to say. It’s the PR game, I get it, but that’s not how Darius does it… he’s been doing this long enough to shoot you straight.
