Luke Combs Scores His 19th Career #1 At Country Radio With “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma”

Music

Simply incredible.

What a run it’s been for Luke Combs, who scored his 19th career #1 at country radio with “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” over the weekend, from the Twisters: The Album soundtrack, which topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart. It’s Luke’s 21st #1 counting features.

Written by Luke with Jessi Alexander and Jonathan Singleton, the song was also featured on the big screen as it was the lead single for the Twisters movie, which featured a lot of great music written by other country artists like Miranda Lambert, Tyler Childers, Lainey Wilson and more.

The driving guitar and almost haunting melody was truly the perfect song for the movie, and the fact that it also became a hit at radio says a lot… it’s been a long time since a song written for a feature film had this kind of crossover success.

It goes without saying just how impressive it is for Combs, still relatively early in his career, to be having this kind of success, and clearly, I don’t think he’ll be slowing down anytime soon.

This is actually the second #1 he’s achieved this year, as “Where The Wild Things Are” topped the Mediabase chart in February, which is one of two charts labels use to officially track their songs performance (along with the U.S. Billboard Country Airplay chart):

Luke most recently released his most personal, heartfelt album yet with Fathers & Sons earlier this year, and was out on a huge stadium trek for his Growin’ Up & Gettin’ Old tour this summer.

Congrats to Luke on another #1 hit, and many more to come in the future… turn it up:
