Muscadine Bloodline throwing it back to the heyday of vinyl.
Vinyl records were first available to be purchased by music consumers in the early 1930s. Back then, purchasing a physical record (and already owning a record player) was the only way to listen to music that you wanted to listen to. Otherwise, you had to gather around a radio and hope that your favorite tune came on. That’s hard to imagine now with most of us having instant access to millions of songs at our fingertips.
But vinyl is BACK, and if you happen to be a fan of Muscadine Bloodline, the country duo is giving their followers a chance to go back in time and race to a record store to hear new music – exclusively releasing on vinyl.
Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton, the men behind one of country’s best independent bands, posted this message to their fans saying:
“Tomorrow, we are releasing a surprise six song record called ‘The Supply Drop,’ only available on vinyl. We only printed 800 copies and all of them are signed. These will be the only ones ever printed. ‘The Supply Drop’ isn’t just some songs that didn’t make ‘The Coastal Plain.’
It represents its continuation, while serving as a glimpse of what’s coming next, built on one key component… your trust.”
Since they brought it up, their latest album, The Coastal Plain, was just released in August of 2024. That means that loyal fans are getting a lot of new music from Muscadine Bloodline in a short amount of time – if they are able to track down one of the 800 copies of The Supply Drop that’s being released.
As to why Muncaster and Stanton decided to do this special, unique drop, the duo explained that it’s an act of continuing to build trust with their fanbase.
“Our goal has never been to be the biggest. Our sole goal is to simply bring you our best. Trusting us to give you music worth buying, that you haven’t heard before is a big ask. But, trust is something we don’t take lightly, especially when it comes to the craft. ‘The Supply Drop’ is available tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. CST.”
You can read through those messages as you scroll through the post below. The last slide seems to be what the ‘The Supply Drop’ cover art will look like, so if you plan on going to your local record store in search of the drop, that might be a good picture to reference:
Such a cool idea.
And it hasn’t taken long for Muscadine Bloodline faithful to flock to the comments section to show support of the band’s exclusive vinyl endeavor. Though there are a couple of fans who are upset the new songs won’t be going to streaming, most of everyone else is pumped about the unique opportunity to track down a never-before-heard Muscadine Bloodline vinyl:
“This has me like a kid on Christmas.”
“This is so cool.”
“Give me all the songs.”
“If anyone was gonna make me buy a record player, it would be the boys from South Alabama.”
“I just fell to my knees in Popeyes.”
You know the album drop is huge when it makes people fall to their knees at Popeyes.
