Zach Bryan is officially a free man.
That opening statement can apply to a number of different things the country music star has been dealing with as of late. Bryan is a free man in the sense that he’s no longer dating Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry. And now he’s also a free man when it comes to the charges he faced from his 2023 arrest.
You likely remember the mugshot that sent shockwaves through social media, as well as the damning dash cam footage that made Bryan’s arrest rather understandable. Bryan put out an apology the morning after, saying that he let the emotions get the best of him, and that’s apparent when you look at the tape.
In the video, Zach can be seen pulling up in his black truck next to the white car that his security guard was driving was pulled over, prompting the officer to come up to him and say that he needs to get back into his truck or else he could be charged with interference.
Bryan clearly didn’t think the officer would do so and challenged him:
“I’ll go to jail, let’s do it.”
That arrogant response prompted the officer to tell him to turn around so that he could cuff Zach and put him the front seat of his car. That’s when the country star got pretty apologetic, pretty quickly. Once cuffed and in the car, things really got heated as Zach became increasingly frustrated with the police. Bryan at one point even told the officer:
“I’ll get back in my truck right now if you let me out of these handcuffs. If you don’t, it is going to be a mistake sir. I promise. I know every sheriff in Tulsa, I let 40 of them go to my show.
I know you don’t give a f*ck but this is insane. This is the second time this has happened in three days. These f**king cops are out of control.”
The officer also asked Bryan’s security guard why Bryan was so “irate,” and according to the police report, he said:
“He is a musician and that he was under a lot of stress and pressure.”

Now that you’ve had a refresher, I can relay that TMZ has reported that all of that nonsense and disagreement and arrogance and disrespect (and whatever else you want to call it) has been washed clean. Bryan’s charges for obstruction from his 2023 Oklahoma arrest have been dropped.
Bryan’s charges were originally deferred for period of six months in May of 2024, according to a statement from Craig County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Michelle Lowry. But because he’s reportedly had “good behavior” (that’s probably a loose term when it comes to the “Something In The Orange” singer) since the arrest, the prosecutors have opted to drop the case completely.
So now Bryan can put all of that in the rear view mirror, though it appears he’s going to stay plenty busy with the ongoing feud between the country music star and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy…
