Any reason this was canceled?
Garth Brooks was supposed to put on an exclusive, free concert on Jimmy Kimmel Live!… until he wasn’t.
According to the US Sun, the “Friends In Low Places” singer was set to perform mini-concert for the late night program on Monday, November 25th. However, it now appears that Jimmy Kimmel Live! – or one of their corporate overlords – decided to pull the plug on the event.
The free Garth Brooks concert is reportedly no longer happening, despite the live audience company 1iota confidently advertising the event just a few days ago:
“Garth Brooks is bringing his magic to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ with an exclusive outdoor mini-concert! Be there as country music’s legend lights up the stage. Request your FREE tickets now.”

Many fans had already received tickets through the live audience company, and those same fans apparently found out that the concert was off through an email. 1iota didn’t give much reasoning behind the abrupt cancelation, and told ticket holders that the event would not be rescheduled:
“Unfortunately, the Garth Brooks Outdoor Mini-Concert at ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on Monday, November 25 has been canceled and will no longer proceed as scheduled. Television production decisions can fluctuate due to a variety of reasons.
We hate delivering disappointing news, and we hope you will join us in the future for another exciting fan experience. Unfortunately, in the world of television, these things sometimes happen. This event will not be rescheduled.”
Though it’s unclear why the concert was canceled (if you look at the schedule on 1iota, Brooks no longer appears), one could assume that it has to do with the sexual assault and misconduct allegations that the country music star is currently dealing with.
Garth is still in the beginning stages of what could turn into a drawn-out legal battle. However, Brooks and his lawyers are doing everything in their power to expedite the process – recently filing to move the lawsuit to federal court, and then asking for the case to be thrown out altogether.
The complaint that Brooks and his team of lawyers faces was filed anonymously last month in a California state court. The woman, who identified herself only as Jane Roe, alleges that the country music superstar raped and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions, including once while the two were in Los Angeles for a performance. She also claims that Garth expressed his interest in having a threesome with the woman and his wife, Trisha Yearwood.
From the very beginning, Garth has maintained his innocence, and it’s clear that he’s doing everything in his power to clear his name. He released this statement initially after saying he refused to pay out hush money to his accuser:
“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face. Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of – ugly acts no human should ever do to another.
We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides. I want to play music tonight. I want to continue our good deeds going forward. It breaks my heart these wonderful things are in question now. I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be.”
Since the lawsuit was filed, Garth has wrapped up his Las Vegas residency for the year, taking some time off before starting back up in 2025.
