The two former roommates are reuniting for their second annual Christmas podcast.
Ella Langley and Trey Lewis used to be roommates, and he mentored her when she first started her career. While these two might not be roommates anymore, they remain good friends, and boy, do they have some good stories from living together. The two started their annual podcast two years ago but had to take a break last year due to Ella having eye surgery. So, this year, they are resuming their tradition of sitting down to talk about Ella’s success and tell some funny stories.

During the podcast, Trey congratulates Ella on having her first number-one single, “You Look Like You Love Me,” and take a walk down memory lane to one of the first tours Ella went on with Trey right after COVID. Trey’s hit “D**ked Down In Dallas” was taking off, and he wanted to hit the road to promote his music despite touring still not being fully back after the pandemic.
“Let’s talk about Ned Kelly’s. POV: you’re me in 2020…2021. 2021. Everything was still shut down like no one was touring. It was still kind of taboo to start touring. But ‘D**ked Down In Dallas’ kind of blew up, and it was kind of changing all of our lives, and you were like, ‘Well, we are gonna tour this thing.’”
Langley recalls.
She says she remembers that tour being insane because it was many folks’ first time out of the house. She recognizes that concerts are a time when people can let loose, and it’s something folks often look forward to. While Trey and Ella see that side of people every night they take the stage, something was in the air during these first shows since COVID, and people were cutting loose more than usual.
Ella recalled the tour being insane, to say the least.
“Me as a girl riding three deep in a passenger fan as 21. 10 guys and me. You guys are not the calmest bunch. That’s why when I went out with Koe, everyone’s like, ‘Are they crazy?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, but not like Trey and them.’ Like…Koe and them are crazy, but THAT tour was a different level to this day. That was some of the craziest sh*t.”
They then go on to talk about this specific show at Ned Kelly’s, which is one to remember. The night included Ella getting a new Gibson guitar, which was almost stolen later in the night, and someone stabbing a tire on the touring trailer.
Ella and Trey recall the night as insane, and the crowd contributed significantly to that.
The days after the pandemic were filled with crazy nights for those attending shows or even those just stepping back into a bar again. It was a different time. I am sure some shows still reach this level of crazy, but this one-night post-pandemic will be one both Ella and Trey will never forget.
