Respect.
Kid Rock may be controversial to some, but one thing he’s never been shy about his showing his support for law enforcement and our military.
The outspoken rock star is actually even a police officer himself: Kid Rock, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, was at one point a reserve police officer for the village of Oakley in his home state of Michigan. But while he doesn’t wear his badge most of the time, he still takes time to show his respect for those who do.
Kid Rock recently celebrated New Year’s Eve on Broadway in downtown Nashville, spending time at his own lower Broadway bar and even hopping on stage for the packed crowd.

And after he finished up at his place, he walked a block down the street to check out his friend Jelly Roll’s new Nashville bar.
While Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville hasn’t opened to the public just yet, the bar hosted a VIP party on New Year’s Eve and gave partygoers their first look at the new space. And it seems like Kid Rock had a pretty good time.
In a video originally posted by Music Mayhem Magazine, the rock star is seen leaving the bar and looking like he’s…well, feeling pretty good.
Kid Rock doesn’t stop to chat with onlookers – but despite being pretty well fried, he does take time to stop and shake hands with each and every police officer standing outside the bar.
He then hops into the passenger seat of a waiting Suburban before rolling down the window and waving to the crowd…and then flipping them the bird. Classic Kid Rock.

It’s been a big year for Kid Rock, who not only recently announced the second year of his Rock the Country festival, but spent much of 2024 campaigning for GOP presidential nominee, former President Donald Trump. The American Badass hit the campaign trail for Trump and even performed at the Republican National Convention just days after Trump was shot during an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
His song “American Rock ‘N Roll” was used by Trump in his final campaign ad ahead of the 2024 presidential election, and after Trump’s victory Kid Rock even met with Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi to discuss reform related to the concert ticket industry:
“What a treat to break bread with our soon to be Attorney General Pam Bondi.
I look forward to working with her and the whole administration to help fix the fiasco of buying concert tickets. Gonna open a can of whoop ass on the bots, scalpers, venues, ticketing companies, managers and artists alike who rip off and deceive the public with the horse shit that has gone on for decades and only gotten worse.
Whoever in charge that wants to help fix this, get your ass to the table, otherwise, Fuck Around and Find Out.”

Of course Kid Rock doesn’t have an official role in the Trump administration, but he did joke that he has a cabinet position:
“Head of the Liquor Cabinet.”
People keep asking if I have a spot in President Trump’s cabinet….I do….Head of The Liquor Cabinet!!
