Jonathan Peyton didn’t waste much time getting new music out in 2025.
Fresh off of his biggest year to date, Peyton was absolutely prolific in 2024 with the release of his sophomore album Nothing Here’s The Same eight years after the release of his debut record, a handful of singles, his OurVinyl Sessions EP, and the 26-track Live at the Bird Room album in December.
It would have been perfectly justified if Peyton were to take some time off from releasing music, but instead, he’s picking up in the new year right where he left off with a brand new single… I’m not mad about it.
Titled “Sunrise,” Peyton’s latest release is a heartfelt ode to the person with whom you stick together throughout the hard times and helping each other realize the light at the end of the tunnel.
Co-written with legendary Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit guitarist Sadler Vaden, who has also produced Peyton’s album last year as well as recent records from Morgan Wade and Drayton Farley. “Sunrise” features the sort of relatable song content, impressive lyricism, and breathtaking harmonies from his wife Abigail that have become synonymous with Peyton’s growing catalog.
Peyton took to Instagram upon the single’s release to share some thoughts with his followers.
“‘Sunrise’ is out everywhere! This song is about being there for someone you love when their world seems to be falling apart. It’s also about that person who is there for you when you’re growing through it.
I wrote this one with Sadler Vaden and we recorded it in the same day. It’s always an honor to work together.
Abigail Peyton grabbed some oil pastels and created this amazing cover art! It’s so good and she sounds amazing as always singing on this track!
Thanks Bobby Holland for mixing it up and making it sound great. Go check out ‘Sunrise!’”
That’s some pretty impressive album artwork from his incredibly talented wife.

And while we’re at it, here are a few of my favorites from Jonathan Peyton’s 2024 album Nothing Here’s the Same.
“Since You’ve Been Gone”
“Insane”
“To the Country”
And while this certainly won’t be the full list, there is already a few dates on the calendar for Jonathan in 2025. If you get the chance to see him at a venue near you… take it.
