Fans will be heading back to The White Lotus for a fourth season. HBO has announced that Mike White‘s beloved drama series will continue beyond the upcoming season three, which premieres on Feb. 16.

Deadline reports that the studio is aiming to begin production on the fourth season next year. HBO head Casey Bloys told reporters in November that White had already pitched the idea, but didn’t share any details or confirm whether specific cast members might return. “If he wants to move forward and do the four seasons — he will do the fourth season,” Bloys said.

The third season, set in Thailand, sees Natasha Rothwell returning from the Hawaii-set season one. It also stars Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Walton Goggins, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Parker Posey, and Blackpink’s Lisa.

Rothwell recently teased the new episodes in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying, “I would be on set, even when it wasn’t my day shooting, just to watch the magic unfold. And I would be gagged — as if I hadn’t already read all the scripts! I’d be like, ‘Oh, shit.’ I really do think that this season is magic. That’s the only word.”

She confirmed that her character Belinda, who managed the spa at the White Lotus location in Maui during the show’s first season, is heading to Thailand as a guest, not as an employee this time.

“She’s still working at the White Lotus, and she’s in Thailand doing sort of an exchange program to learn more about the wellness programs that the Thailand White Lotus offers,” Rothwell said. “She’s going to be a guest for the first time, even though she’s taking classes and it’s a work trip. She’s staying at the hotel, which is something that she hasn’t done before, and so we get to see her really dip her toe in the other side of life of the upstairs/downstairs of White Lotus.”

White wrapped up scripts for the third season in November 2023, and hinted that the new installment would be a “supersized White Lotus.” “It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier,” he said. “I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing.”
