Country Singer Mae Estes Reacts To Viral Video Claiming She’s Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman’s Daughter: “TikTok & Its Nonsense Live To See Another Day”

Another genealogical conspiracy theory strikes the internet.

The stories people string together on the internet, hoping that folks will believe it, are sometimes comical. Thus far, 2025 has been the year of wild conspiracy theories, starting off with the theory that Zach Top is Alan Jackson’s son. While that theory has some razor thin legs to stand on… basically that Jackson was performing in the state of Washington around the time that Top was conceived, it unquestionably not true.

But while Zach Top’s traditional country sound and glorious stache may resemble the ’90s country icon, this latest conspiracy theory is downright bonkers.

Mae Estes has been featured in a TikTok video created by a fan account claiming that she is the daughter of Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. The video’s creator honestly puts together some phenomenal editing featuring Barstool’s Dave Portnoy. They put together clips from a BFFs Podcast episode with interview clips from Urban and Kidman talking about an artist. The video then features a portion of Este’s appearance on TL’s Road House, where she talks about how her father’s taste inspired her songwriting.

“In the classic country world, I’m just a product of my dad’s taste.”

Like I said, the editing was pretty damn good, and has gained over half a million views and over 15,000 likes. But thankfully, many viewers were quick to call out the nonsense.

“Runs to Google instantly…..I knew this wasn’t true.”

“Does Keith and Nicole know this?”

“Huh? She’s from Hope, Arkansas.”

“She’s not their daughter.”

Estes saw this viral video and reacted to its outlandish statement. She accompanied the video with a video of herself sitting comfortably on a couch, surprised as the video played.

“TikTok and its nonsense live to see another day. If it makes y’all check out my music, though, carry on.”

While Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman do have two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, country singer Mae Estes is not one of them. That Arkansas accent doesn’t quite match the Australian accents of Urban and Kidman.

@maeestes Tik Tok and its nonsense live to see another day 🫡 if it makes y’all check out my music tho, carry on hahah #maeestes #keithurban #nicolekidman ♬ original sound – Mae’s Country 🇺🇸

Fans quickly reacted to the video as well, noting how ridiculous it is that some folks are actually falling for it:

“News to Mae!”

“Whaaaaaat did I just see?! We need to see your mom and dad’s reaction.”

“This cannot be real life.”

“This has me CRACKING UP!”

“When I saw this, all I could think was, oh my gosh, has Mae seen this?”

“You’re far too talented for this to even be possible!”

“Lmao. Too freaking funny!”

“This is gold. I knew there was something about you.”

“Some of these TikTok videos they put together are nuts!!!

However, as Estes said, if the theory of this video gets people to check out her music, then at least one good thing is coming out of fake news. Don’t believe everything you see on the internet, kids.

While you’re here, fire up one of the singles Estes dropped last year, “What I Shoulda Done.”
