The Nashville community is coming together to raise money for the city of Los Angeles.
Today, it was announced that a special benefit concert called LA Revival, presented by Thirty Tigers and Triple Tigers, will take place on Wednesday, February 19th at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
The show will feature a great lineup including Dwight Yoakam, Turnpike Troubadours, Cam, Corey Kent, Carter Faith, Shane Profitt and Brit Taylor. All proceeds from the event will go to the MusiCares LA Fire Relief Effort to help support those impacted by the devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area last month. Although born in Kentucky, Dwight Yoakam has been synonymous with the California country music scene after moving to LA in the early ’80s.
Of course, I think many of us have seen the devastating footage from throughout the Los Angeles area, and the community obviously has a long road to recovery after wildfires that sparked in early January wreaked havoc on the city. Entire neighborhoods were wiped off the map as the Palisades and Eaton fires collectively burned over 36,000 acres. Firefighters fought to contain the fires in what could only be described as nightmare conditions. It’s only been in recent weeks that the fires have reached levels of over 95% containment.
The blazing and uncontrollable fires were started in the residential community known as the Pacific Palisades, and unfortunately, the natural disaster has claimed the lives of at least 29 people, and more than 16,000 homes and businesses have been destroyed, according to the BBC.
It’s just heartbreaking to see, and Americans all across the country have watched as the horror played out, and now, people are banding together to do what they can to help. Other artists, like Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane, have also stepped up in this dire time, and the music community in general has done so much. Raising money for the community was a focal point of the Grammy’s on Sunday night, which was definitely a highlight as they raised a total of over $120 million for LA fire relief.
If you’re interested in supporting the cause and want to see some fantastic country music, this is certainly the way to go:

MusiCares is an organization that helps the humans behind music, offering preventive, emergency and recovery programs. They’re also a safety net supporting the health and welfare of the music community.
Founded by the Recording Academy (the organization that puts on the Grammy’s) in 1989 as a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) charity, “MusiCares safeguards the well-being of all music people through direct financial grant programs, networks of support resources, and tailored crisis relief efforts.”
It’s cool to see another music town in Nashville help out their fellow musicians in LA through this benefit and MusiCares, and I have no doubt Bridgestone will be packed full in a couple weeks.
