Rob Lowe was great on 9-1-1: Lone Star, and it’s a shame that the show concluded.
Now Ryan Murphy has a golden opportunity to revisit that well.
Lowe has expressed interest in appearing on the new show, 9-1-1: Nashville.

The 9-1-1 universe is expanding with a new spin-off this fall.
And the new show is led by Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.
As a matter of fact, Don Sharpe marks O’Donnell’s first show and role following his run as G. Callen on NCIS: Los Angeles.
Having O’Donnell back on TV is going to be a fun treat, and I can’t wait for the season premiere.

He is the perfect choice to work as a firefighter on the spin-off, and some fun names would surround him.
Unfortunately, 9-1-1: Lone Star had to end to clear the television landscape for the new show.
Rob Lowe Would Like to Reprise His Character
Lowe played Captain Owen Strand on 9-1-1: Lone Star.
Casting Lowe was a fun choice, and he brought his movie star aura to the part.

The New York transplant came to Austin to rebuild a firehouse after a deadly call decimated it.
Strand was a force in Texas, making his firehouse one of the best around, and doing so through leading by example.
Lowe is not ready to hang up the turnouts, and I am here for it.
As a result, the veteran actor recently stated that he would reprise his character on 9-1-1: Nashville if asked.

“I’m just waiting for my phone to ring,” Lowe told Entertainment Weekly when asked about playing Owen Strand again.
Lowe’s decision may be because he is close to an executive producer and director for 9-1-1: Nashville.
Chad Lowe, Rob’s brother, is that man. And Chad needs to pick up the phone.
That’s not to say that 9-1-1: Lone Stars’s conclusion frustrated Lowe.
On the contrary.

“I think Owen Strand, based on who he was, went out in the right way,” Lowe revealed to EW.
“I think you wrap things up based on a character’s history and what they represent,” he added.
He’s right — I really thought FOX wrapped up Lone Star with a nice bow and that the show had run its course.
Sure, I would have enjoyed watching more episodes, but not all shows are built to last forever.
Not everything can be NCIS, Law & Order, or 60 Minutes.
How I Think Rob Lowe on 9-1-1: Nashville Could Work

Rob Lowe doesn’t need to be the star of 9-1-1: Nashville and can be brought back in numerous ways.
The writers could have the Nashville team responding to a call, only to find that someone was already at the scene.
We then discover that Owen Strand was in the right place at the right time, possibly in Nashville on a well-deserved vacation.
Having Lowe pop by for an episode or two could also help give the show a bump during sweeps.

Hopefully, the spinoff will find a way to make it work because Owen Strand was an iconic Rob Lowe character.
