Pretty Little Liars Cast: Where Are They Now?

Pretty Little Liars Cast: Where Are They Now?

Television

Pretty Little Liars debuted 15 years ago.

Nearly eight years after wrapping its final season, the Liars still have a place in viewers’ hearts.

The Freeform show created a huge fandom and catapulted a few of its stars into the main spotlight.

In keeping with the celebration of 15 years of Pretty Little Liars, we have decided to share an update on where some stars are today.

From being working moms to slinking into a more “normal” life, the women (and men) have certainly changed since Season 1 debuted.

Here is where you can find the Liars today.

Lucy Hale As Aria Montgomery

Aria Montgomery was one of the characters that viewers were split about.

Some loved her, while others loved to hate her.

A true sign of a great actress is someone who can make the fandom feel something for the character.

Lucy Hale held onto the role of Aria for the entire seven seasons that Pretty Little Liars was on the air. Her relationship with Ezra caused chaos, but it kept the viewers tuned in.

Following the ending of Pretty Little Liars, Lucy continued to act. She went on to star as Katy Keene, but the show didn’t catch on as hoped, despite her character appearing on Riverdale to boost the appeal.

She also co-hosted Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest from 2019 to 2021 after severing as the New Orleans correspondent in the years prior.

Shay Mitchell as Emily Fields

Emily Fields was one of the most level-headed characters on Pretty Little Liars.

She was very basic compared to some Liars, which appealed to the fandom because she was more “normal.”

Her relationships with Paige and Alison brought more eyes to the show with the support of a queer couple in a young adult drama.

Shay Mitchell has been a busy bee since Pretty Little Liars ended.

She had a few guest-starring roles and was a guest judge on shows like Project Runway and RuPaul’s Drag Race.

You may have seen Shay as Stella in Dollface, her most significant role since Pretty Little Liars ended.

Aside from her fashion and acting endeavors, Shay is also a businesswoman.

She has a fashion travel brand, BÉIS, and a tequila brand, Onda.

Shay was also an executive producer on Fox’s The Cleaning Lady, which was recently canceled.

On top of all her business endeavors, Shay is a mom to two little girls.

Ashley Benson as Hanna Marin

Hanna Marin was the queen bee of Rosewood High after Alison DiLaurentis disappeared.

She dated Caleb and got in deep with the Liars and the situations they found themselves in. He was given a spin-off, Ravenswood (where she appeared briefly), but it crashed and burned early on.

The Liars all fell into different groups, and Hanna was easily the prettiest and popular.

Ashley got her big break when she landed the role of Abigail Devareaux on Days of Our Lives. She stayed in Salem for nearly three years.

From there, she landed bit parts before getting chosen for the role of Hanna Marin on the Pretty Little Liars cast.

Following wrapping the Freeform show, Ashley Benson landed roles here and there, mostly guest-starring roles. Her most recent role was Cara Parker in the Prime Video series Wilderness.

However, her personal life garnered the attention of many. Ashley was romantically linked to Tyler Blackburn on and off throughout their run on Pretty Little Liars.

She was also involved in a relationship with Cara Delevingne, dated G-Eazy, and finally settled with Brandon Davis.

Ashley married Brandon in 2023 and welcomed their daughter in February 2024.

Troian Bellisario as Spencer Hastings

Troian Bellisario’s role as Spencer Hastings fit, as she was the studious Liars, something familiar about the actress and the role was present on-screen.

Spencer was believed to be a straight-laced student involved with the Liars.

However, as we found out while watching, she was anything but. She struggled to keep her grades up and her relationship with Toby going.

She resonated with viewers, especially those who could relate to the character.

Troian has joined Shay Mitchell and Ashley Benson in the mom club. She and her husband have two daughters.

Following the ending of Pretty Little Liars, Troian had a few guest-star roles.

However, she joined the Prime Video series On Call as Traci Harmon.

Since Pretty Little Liars wrapped, Troian has also dipped into her directorial phase after doing one episode of the Freeform hit.

Following the series’ ending eight years ago, things appeared to have slowed down for Troian and some of her castmates.

Unfortunately, On Call was not renewed for a second season, and Troian won’t return.

Sasha Pieterse as Alison DiLaurentis

It’s hard to believe that when Sasha Pieterse joined the Pretty Little Liars cast, she was nearly a decade younger than most of her co-stars.

Alison DiLaurentis was the ultimate bad girl, who turned out to be someone else entirely. While it’s true that she was the resident “queen bee,” the trauma in life was hidden deep.

When Alison returned to Rosewood after she “died,” things became more outrageous than they were at the beginning of the series.

Following the ending of Pretty Little Liars, Sasha Pieterse didn’t retire the character completely.

Alison DiLaurentis popped up on the Pretty Little Liars spin-off, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

It was just one of the roles Sasha had following the success of the Freeform teen drama.

Her small-screen roles have been one-offs or guest judge roles, but she has also dabbled in film.

Sasha’s most recent project was The Image of You, where she played twins, Anna and Zoe.

In her personal life, Sasha married Hudson Sheaffer in 2018.

The couple welcomed a baby boy in 2020, likely keeping the Pretty Little Liars actress busy.

Ian Harding as Ezra Fitz

As one-half of arguably the favorite Pretty Little Liars couple, Ian Harding as Ezra Fitz earned quite the notoriety.

Even with the creepy relationship with his student (and a rendezvous with Alison), viewers still rooted for Ezra.

He endured a lot being entangled with Aria and the Liars, yet he still managed to come out on top.

Marrying Aria when Pretty Little Liars ended in 2017 set the tone for more to come, though that never happened.

However, that didn’t stop Ian from continuing to act.

After Pretty Little Liars wrapped, Ian appeared in a recurring role on Chicago Med. It was interesting because actress Torrey DeVitto, who played Spencer’s sister Melissa, starred on the NBC show as Natalie Manning.

Ian also signed on to play Eddie Hagan, the assistant coach on BET’s Long Slow Exhale. The show ran for 12 episodes in 2022.

Keegan Allen as Toby Cavanaugh

Toby Cavanaugh was the perfect role for Keegan Allen. Coupling him with Troian’s Spencer was ideal.

Risking his life and his job for the Liars became par for the course.

Keegan’s dynamic with the other actors showcased his acting abilities, which likely helped him land his next long-term role.

Following his time on Pretty Little Liars, Keegan landed a role on the CW’s Walker.

He played Liam Walker, Cordell’s brother. Jared Padalecki as Cordell and Keegan as Liam was the perfect combination.

Their brotherly chemistry was visible through the screen.

Keegan appeared in 53 episodes throughout his time on the show.

Walker ended after four seasons on the CW.

Keegan seems like the perfect fit for law enforcement or attorney types, as he held long-term roles in both careers.

Tyler Blackburn as Caleb Rivers

If you had a crush on a Pretty Little Liars cast member, it was likely Tyler Blackburn.

He was paired with Ashley Benson’s Hanna, and their relationship was a whirlwind.

Caleb was in deep with the Liars, which took him on a trip to Ravenswood, where his character would eventually headline a spin-off of the same name.

Hanna and Caleb were a popular couple among the Pretty Little Liars fandom.

Their on-screen chemistry was hot, which led to speculation that Ashley and Tyler were dating off-screen.

However, while they may have caught feelings at one time or another, they remained friends only.

Following the wrap of Pretty Little Liars, Tyler landed a role on the CW’s Roswell: New Mexico.

He took on the role of Alex Manes, the love interest of Michael Guerin, played by Michael Vlamis.

Alex had no idea that Michael was one of the aliens in Roswell, and the discovery of that and what happened there came with plenty of twists and turns.

Tyler killed it in the role and was popular among viewers.

Janel Parrish as Mona Vanderwaal

Mona was the most chaotic member of the Pretty Little Liars cast.

She wreaked havoc on the Liars while also managing to form bonds with each of them.

Janel Parrish flourished in the role and remained one of the characters viewers loved to hate.

Janel appeared in several TV movies after her time in Rosewood as Mona.

Mona popped back up for the Pretty Little Liars spin-off, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

In 2023, Janel appeared on The Masked Singer, coming in third place as the gazelle.

Earlier this year, Janel starred in the Hallmark movie, Return to Office.

She had fantastic chemistry with her co-star, Scott Michael Foster.

Janel should continue to make feel-good romance stories because she was great.

Holly Marie Combs as Ella Montgomery

When it debuted, Holly Marie Combs was a massive draw for millennials to tune into Pretty Little Liars.

While she wasn’t among the Liars, her role as Aria’s mom, Ella Montgomery, was the perfect fit.

She was more prominent in the earlier seasons, but popped in and out until the series ended in 2018.

Watching Holly Marie Combs on Charmed as Piper Halliwell was a significant part of many viewers’ lives.

Following Holly to Pretty Little Liars opened up a wider audience and grew the fandom.

Ella Montgomery wasn’t a memorable role, but it served its purpose.

Following the ending of Pretty Little Liars, Holly Marie Combs appeared in a few guest roles, including one on Grey’s Anatomy.

Instead of acting, she has channeled her energy into podcasting, hosting the House of Halliwell podcast.

Chad Lowe as Byron Montgomery

Snagging Chad Lowe as Byron Montgomery was a huge deal for the Pretty Little Liars cast.

He had been an actor for over three decades, including roles on various television shows.

Life Goes On was one of the bigger names.

Appearing as Aria’s dad, Chad was on contract for the first three seasons, and he went recurring for the remaining seasons in the series.

Byron is one of the secret-keepers in Aria’s life, asking her to keep the truth about his affair with a student he taught a secret from Ella.

The affair became one of the many secrets Aria and her Liars counterparts kept.

Since appearing on Pretty Little Liars, Chad has been busy doing either one-off guest appearances or smaller arcs like he did in Supergirl.

Chad appeared on 9-1-1: Lone Star as Robert Strand, the brother of Owen, played by his real-life brother, Rob Lowe. The story arc was gut-wrenching, mainly because you could see the real emotions between the brothers.

Nia Peeples as Pam Fields

It was a massive win for Nia Peeples to sign on to play Emily’s mom, Pam Fields, on the Pretty Little Liars cast.

She has been acting for decades, bringing a unique perspective to the role.

Pam was a strict mom who attempted to raise her daughter while having the best intentions.

However, that backfired on her when she was unsupportive of Emily when she revealed her sexuality to her.

The lack of support strained their relationship, though she eventually came around.

Nia Peeples continued to be active following her role on the Pretty Little Liars cast.

She did an episode of Celebrity Wife Swap, where she traded lives with singer Tiffany.

Nia then appeared in a recurring role on The Fosters.

Laura Leighton as Ashley Marin

There couldn’t have been a better choice to play Hanna’s mom, Ashley Marin, on Pretty Little Liars.

Laura Leighton was TV royalty and was best known for her role on Melrose Place as Sydney Andrews.

(Freeform/Screenshot)

Ashley was just as much of a mess as the Liars.

She was one of the parents who was chaotic, adding to the already complicated mess that the Liars had to handle with “A.”

Her relationships were all over the place, and she was framed for murder when her former detective boyfriend ended up dead.

Throw in an affair with Jason DiLaurentis, and you have the recipe for what made Ashley Marin so popular.

Following her time on Pretty Little Liars, Laura Leighton did bit roles on various TV shows.

Her most recent appearance was on Fantasy Island, where she played the role of Nettie.
