Johnny’s arrest was bound to be explosive, especially after the way his secret spread and Rafe promised Johnny wouldn’t get in trouble.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-30-25 will deliver epic payoff after months of wondering what was going on with those flashbacks of Johnny with a gun.
An Epic Battle is Brewing… and Not Just Between EJ and Chanel
It goes without saying that Chanel will find a way to blame EJ for this mess.
Hopefully, she stands by her man and believes his claim that he merely pointed a gun at EJ but didn’t shoot.
(Only in Salem could a man who pointed a gun at his father be the hero because he didn’t pull the trigger!)
But Chanel is already seeing red when it comes to EJ.
She told him to stay away from Johnny, so she might engage in mental gymnastics such as, “If EJ hadn’t been so horrible a person in the first place, Johnny wouldn’t have almost shot him, and this wouldn’t be happening.”
That’s a stretch, but it is fair to say that EJ hiding the memory card and trying to protect Johnny from prosecution didn’t help anything.
EJ made similar mistakes when Sami was accused of shooting Joe Bernardi, in a trial that went on seemingly forever and was prolonged partially because EJ’s manipulations made her look more guilty.
Speaking of which…
Could Johnny’s Legal Woes Bring Sami Back To Salem?
Alison Sweeney was not available when John’s funeral scenes were taped, but has said that Sami returns a few weeks later and will pay tribute to John during her next visit.
Johnny’s arrest should prompt Sami to jump on the next plane (if she doesn’t get herself arrested too, fighting with someone over a last-minute seat on the next flight!)
It would be especially interesting for Sami to return now because she was so worried Johnny shot EJ, and Rafe was one of the people who reassured her that such a thing was impossible.
Now Rafe is indirectly responsible for Johnny’s arrest because he told Jada what Johnny had done.
Unfortunately, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-30-25 don’t mention Sami, but her return is coming soon, so we’ll probably get her confrontation with Rafe eventually.
Rafe is Mad At Jada, But Is That Fair?
Rafe will tear into Jada, and to an extent, he’s justified.
He told her that Johnny wanted to make a statement but needed to know he wouldn’t be arrested if he did, and Jada turned around and arrested Johnny after promising she’d do her best to protect him.
That’s not cool.
However, Rafe could have protected Johnny better. There was no reason to give Jada a name until he had a deal in place.
Rafe is never held accountable for such screw-ups.
In Salem, this is a cop doing the best he can.
Still, Sami or Johnny might see it differently.

It’s not clear how much Rafe will be around to answer for this mess, either, since he is working with Cat on getting dirt on EJ.
Days of Our Lives likely won’t care that Rafe has a conflict of interest here, but the job could take him away from Johnny’s case for a while, making his perceived betrayal even more frustrating.
Will Belle Get Doctored Evidence? And Another Important Question
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-30-25 show Belle getting an envelope with the memory card inside.
I doubt she’ll get the real footage. EJ could have left the memory card hidden so that it couldn’t be used against Johnny if he was going to let Belle see what was really on it.
Given EJ’s feud with Chanel, my money is still on him creating a deep fake that shows Chanel being the one to accost him with a gun.
Chanel was already accused of murder once, so she has a record, no matter how unfair that is.
And EJ hates her, so he’d have no qualms about throwing her under the bus.
The memory card is less interesting than the question of what will happen to Belle and EJ’s relationship.
EJ and Belle have become the new Xander and Sarah.
Sarah and Xander go back and forth between being perfectly happy and Sarah being so disappointed in his criminal behavior that she wants nothing to do with him, and Belle is often the same way with EJ.
She’s recently decided to “follow her heart” and be with EJ, despite everyone reminding her of the horrible things he’s done to her family. She keeps justifying it by saying that EJ has changed.
We heard that song and dance from Sami for YEARS, so it’s annoying for Belle to say the same things about EJ and be equally as wrong.
However, Johnny’s case could be the thing that tears them apart, at least temporarily.
Belle is prosecuting the case against Johnny, despite being his aunt, while EJ will likely defend him himself, despite being his father (and the supposed victim in the case).
While that would never happen in real life, in Salem, it’s a perfect recipe for relationship-ending drama.
EJ will try every dirty trick he can think of to get Johnny out of trouble, and if Belle catches on, she will be furious.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if both Belle and EJ demanded the other recuse themselves.
That should put a huge wedge between them!
Meanwhile, What The Heck Is Sophia Thinking?
The Days of Our Lives spoiler video has Sophia giving birth alone in a room and telling the baby that no one can know.
That can’t possibly work. Everyone knows Sophia is pregnant, including Tate — the father of the baby.
Sophia is supposed to turn to Trask again, so she probably is going to try to whisk the baby away to be adopted, but still.
Other people involved in this will notice she’s not pregnant anymore.
I know teenagers don’t always think about future consequences, but come on!
Whatever it is Sophia is planning happens just as Tate and Holly reconcile, so the newest baby news will likely tear those two apart again.
I’m also annoyed that Doug III’s relationship with Holly seems to have evaporated.
While it seemed like there would be a love triangle involving Doug III between Holly and Ari, that’s not likely with Tate back in the picture.
Plus, Steve. has news for Julie, which is probably about her stolen necklace.
Is Doug III on the way out of Salem? I hope not, but he’s getting almost no screen time and his story seems to have vanished into thin air, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
Stephanie’s Secret Is Out… Good.
I have a hard time caring about Stephanie’s secret, erotic fiction.
I’d love to have the success as a novelist that she’s already having, so it’s annoying to sit through scenes of her whining that it’s terrible that people read and liked it.

I get that she’s embarrassed by the sexual content, but she’s using a pen name. That’s what those are for.
Also, this is 2025 — most publishers don’t even accept hard copies of manuscripts anymore rather than PDFs.
Anyway, Stephanie’s worst fears will be proven true when Kate deduces that she’s the author of One Stormy Night.
Yawn. The only positive aspect of this spoiler is that it means Stephanie’s secret will be short-lived.
