Vegetation fire burns near Silverwood Lake in San Bernardino County – NBC Los Angeles

A brush fire ignited in the San Bernardino Mountains Saturday with the potential to burn several hundred acres, according to Cal Fire.

The Lake Fire was reported around 3:50 p.m. near the Silver Lake reservoir.

The fire grew to 60 acres and was burning north rapidly, according to Cal Fire.

State Route 138 was closed in both directions from Summit to Old Mill due to the blaze, Cal Trans said.

It’s unclear how the fire started.
