A pedestrian was killed on a Hollywood street by a motorist who fled the scene, authorities said Monday.
The hit-and-run crash was reported at 9:03 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Boulevard and Sierra Bonita Avenue, a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center told City News Service.
The 37-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the officer said.
The vehicle was eastbound on Sunset Boulevard when it struck the woman who was southbound on Sierra Bonita Avenue outside of the crosswalk, he said. The motorist fled southbound on Gardner Street.
The fleeing vehicle was described as a blue Mercedes-Benz G-class SUV, LAPD Officer David Cuellar said.
