Fire crews battling house fire with active fireworks in Pacoima – NBC Los Angeles

Over 100 firefighters were battling a multi-house fire Thursday that sent a large dark plume of smoke hundreds of feet in the air in the San Fernando Valley.

The fire as reported just after 9 p.m. in the 12900 block of Corcoran Street in Pacoima.

At least four homes were caught in the blaze. Fireworks were active, exposing homes and brush in the area, according to the LAFD.

“Firefighters are engaging in the defensive mode at this time, fighting fire from a safe distance to prioritize life safety,” wrote LAFD.

The fire is considered a “Major Emergency,” with over 100 firefighters battling the blaze.

At least one woman was transported a hospital in critical condition, according to LAFD.
