Post Malone Covered The Heck Out Of Toby Keith’s “Courtesy Of The Red, White & Blue” During His Last Show On The American Leg Of His Stadium Tour This Week

Music

The unofficial Fourth of July anthem.

Post Malone has been out on the road this summer playing at stadiums across the country for his Big A** Stadium tour with openers Jelly Roll and Sierra Ferrell both of whom were featured on Post’s 2024 debut country album, F-1 Trillion.

They wrapped up the U.S. leg of the tour this week at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California on Tuesday, and Posty treated fans to a very fitting cover of Toby Keith’s hit “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American),” and I can’t get enough.

Today is obviously a really fun day for all of us Americans, and if you don’t have this song on full blast multiple times today… you’re simply doing it wrong, though I know I don’t have to worry about that in terms of any of you reading this. Of course, “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” was written by Keith in late 2001, and was inspired by his father’s death in March of 2001, as well as the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States later that year.

It was released in May of 2002 as the lead single from his Unleashed album, and eventually peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs in July of 2002, fittingly. It also reached #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming his biggest solo hit on that chart at the time.

Of course, it’s now one of his signature songs and synonymous with this great holiday, and it has been certified 4× Platinum by the RIAA. It’s his highest certified single in the United States, with over 70 million views on streaming platforms, and I think a large percentage of that probably comes from days like today… it’s just classic.

While it will always be Toby’s song, obviously, Posty did a great job with this and I’d honestly love to get a studio cover of it for at least next year’s Fourth of July holiday. He can cover pretty much anything, but especially considering today is Post’s 30th birthday (such a cool day for a birthday), you have to check this out… happy 4th, y’all, and God bless America:
