A driver suspected of driving under the influence busted a move at the end of a pursuit in Westlake on Wednesday.
The chase began sometime around 8:30 p.m. as officers pursued a suspected DUI driver. The driver, evading law enforcement, swerved between lanes on surface streets in Koreatown and Westlake, at times driving on the wrong side of the road and through red lights.
Sometime around 8:45 p.m., the driver entered a crowded parking lot near the intersection of South Bonnie Brae and 6th Streets and surrendered to officers — but not before a quick dance first.
After exiting the vehicle, the driver immediately began to dance just outside the car’s door. They then laid on the ground right before officers surrounded the driver to make an arrest. The scene made for a spectacle in the parking lot, where a food vendor and several people had gathered.
Police did not identify the driver nor specify what charges they may face.
