Days of Our Lives Spoilers for the Week of 5-11-26 Promise As Wild a Ride As It Seems Now That Lexie’s Back

I didn’t like this Lexie resurrection story, but the fallout should be amazing, soapy drama.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-11-26 promise to pick up where they left off, with Lexie wandering into the will reading just as it concluded.

It’s still not clear how much Lexie remembers, but her presence will shake up Salem, maybe even more than expected.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers for the Week of 5-11-26 Don’t Tell Us Exactly What Happens Next

Usually, when someone comes back from the dead on Days of Our Lives, that person has amnesia and falls hard for someone other than their spouse.

It’s not clear if that will happen this time, and it might not be the best direction to go.

Soaps like to focus on late or presumed dead spouses returning to wreak havoc with their true love’s new romance, but that isn’t the most interesting aspect of this Lexie thing.

Theo has already been struggling with existential questions over Lexie’s resurrection, and he’s certain to have intense but mixed feelings about his mother coming up from the tunnels looking half out of it.

The first thing Theo should feel is profound relief. EJ did a lot of psychological damage, whether he meant to or not, by telling Theo about the Lexie experiment and swearing him to secrecy.

Theo was almost entirely isolated because he couldn’t tell Abe what was going on, nor could he explain why he had resigned as CEO of DiMera, and the whole town wanted to know.

He did the only thing he could do: go to Marlena so that he’d have a confidential, safe space to explore the ramifications of this experiment and the role he was playing in it.

Soap operas might have ridiculous plots like this one, but we take them seriously anyway.

But the secret being out doesn’t change that much for Theo. For one thing, he’s still left with the question of whether it’s morally and spiritually wrong to remove Lexie from her grave and bring her back to life.

For a guy like Theo who tends to think in absolutes, this is a huge deal, and the question will continue to bother him until he has an answer he can live with — which may be never, considering how existential this question is.

Additionally, Lexie’s condition doesn’t change the fact that Theo felt forced to keep this secret.

In fact, it will probably make him feel worse because Abe was blindsided. Abe’s supposedly dead wife showed up in the DiMera living room without warning — and Theo knew that could happen.

Theo’s guilt will be intense, and so will his paranoia that Abe or others close to him know that he knew.

And that fear isn’t necessarily wrong, either. Abe likely won’t guess that Theo knew something of this magnitude and kept quiet, and if he ever does find out, he will blame EJ for using Lexie’s potential resurrection to manipulate Theo.

But Gabi knows something weird happened to make Theo quit, and she’s pretty perceptive — plus Theo secretly has a crush on her.

Gabi figuring out the truth would be Theo’s absolute worst nightmare, and he’s going to be worried about it forever.

Let’s Be Real — There Will Be Romantic Fallout as Well

Paulina already knew that Lexie was in that pod, and EJ blackmailed her, too, with nonsense about how Abe and Theo would hate her if she stopped Lexie from returning to them.

Should EJ have been able to get away with manipulating Theo and Paulina?

Abe will be left with a decision to make, but the more interesting thing here is something not even mentioned in the Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-11-26.

Abe knows what it is like to have amnesia and break the heart of someone who loves you. He had that whole ridiculous experience where Whitley pretended to be Paulina, and Abe’s memory failure left him unable to distinguish fact from fantasy.

Therefore, Abe could empathize strongly with Lexie, whether or not he hopes to eventually resume a romance with her.

That could make Paulina even more afraid that she is going to lose Abe to Lexie, especially since Abe will be furious once he finds out both his wife and son knew ahead of time. He can understand that EJ manipulated them both, but he will likely feel betrayed by Paulina in a way that he won’t by Theo.

This drama all comes at a terrible time for Paulina, too, since Chanel is pregnant and might have cancer. Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-11-26 say that Chanel and Johnny comfort each other, but it’s likely that Chanel will soon need her mother.

Meanwhile, There Is Also Fallout for Cat and Leo

The two of them were down in the dungeon poking their noses into EJ’s business when Lexie escaped.

It’s not the most interesting fallout, but EJ and Rita will likely be suspicious of these two, especially since EJ already thinks Leo is a pain who is always trying to uncover EJ’s secrets.

The whole mess will push EJ to explore his connection with Cat more deeply, while Chad defends Leo, all of which is mildly interesting.

Meanwhile, there is plenty of non-Lexie drama in Salem, some of which centers on Sophia.

I’m incredibly irritated that Amy still blames Holly for Sophia’s “death” (let’s be honest — Sophia will appear alive sooner or later), but Kristen continuing to have nightmares in which she argues with a dead Sophia is an even worse idea.

In addition to this story, we have Tony offering Gabi the CEO position for some reason that I don’t understand, but the more interesting Gabi story is that she and Ari will continue to clash over Liam.

I’m curious as to how much Gabi will push Ari toward Liam with her disapproval, especially since Liam wasn’t interested before.
