Dutton Ranch has unseated Taylor Sheridan‘s The Madison as the biggest original series launch in Paramount+ history. It’s also the biggest cable premiere since 2023. While Dutton Ranch has not yet been renewed for Season 2, as of the time of publication, this is a positive sign that the Yellowstone spinoff could be renewed for a second season.

Paramount revealed the viewership for the two-part Dutton Ranch series premiere on May 26, 11 days after the May 15 debut. Dutton Ranch, from Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, has amassed 12.9 million views globally in the seven days since its premiere — marking the biggest Original Series launch in Paramount+ history.

In addition to its record-setting performance on Paramount+, Dutton Ranch is also the No. 1 streaming series according to Nielsen based on average audience for the week of May 11, according to preliminary data.

Dutton Ranch delivered 2.9 million total viewers on premiere night (May 15) across its two-episode debut on Paramount Network. It scored the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023, with 1.9 million viewers for the first episode. Dutton Ranch also ranked as the No. 1 cable entertainment telecast on premiere day among both adults 18-49 and total viewers.

The Madison, Sheridan’s newest non-Yellowstone drama, premiered on March 14 with the first three episodes of Season 1. The second three episodes came out the following week on March 21. The Madison got 8 million viewers in its first 10 days, and that was a record for the time. Dutton Ranch blew past that in the same window of time. The Season 2 premiere of Sheridan’s Landman brought in 9.2 million streaming views in two days.

Dutton Ranch stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who are reprising their roles of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler from Yellowstone. When a natural disaster forces them to leave their new ranch in Dillon, Montana, behind, they move their family to Rio Paloma, Texas, to start a new ranching life.

The spinoff also stars Annette Bening, Ed Harris, Finn Little, Natalie Alyn Lind, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, and Marc Menchaca.

The Madison stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett, and more in a family drama about healing from profound familial loss. The Madison Season 2 has already been filmed and is just awaiting a premiere date, and it’s already been renewed for Season 3.
