Firefighters are battling a brush fire burning in Whittier Narrows.
The blaze was reported at about 4:15 p.m. Monday near the Rio Hondo bike path, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Aerial footage from NewsChopper4 showed a thick plume of black smoke coming from the area as the fire burns through dry vegetation.
It’s unclear what started the fire.
