Man shot dead while ‘making prank robbery video for YouTube’

US News

A man appears to have been shot and killed by mistake as he was making a “prank” robbery video for YouTube.

Police in Nashville, Tennessee, said they were called to the car park of Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park on Friday evening.

When they arrived, David Starnes Jr, 23, admitted shooting 20-year-old Timothy Wilks, officers said.

Witnesses told detectives that while Mr Wilks and a friend were making the video, they approached a group of people, including Mr Starnes, carrying butchers’ knives.

Mr Starnes apparently said he was unaware of the prank and shot Mr Wilks to defend himself and the people he was with.

An investigation has begun and no one has been charged with Mr Wilks’s death.
