She’s doin’ it.
It’s no secret that Taylor is setting out to rerecord her first six albums in an attempt to regain control of her masters, but after she released two albums this past year, Folklore and Evermore, her fans got to wondering… when?
Welp, now…
This morning on Good Morning America, Taylor announced that the first album she re-recorded was Fearless, her 2008 sophomore country record that featured hits like “Love Story,” “White Horse,” “You Belong With Me,” and more. Fearless won the ACM and CMA Album of the Year awards, as well as two Grammys for Best Country Album and Best Album.
The project will also feature 6 new songs that didn’t make the first record, and her new version of “Love Story,” which was actually already previewed in a Ryan Reynolds Match.com ad, will debut tomorrow, February 12th.
“I’ve spoken a lot about why I’m remaking my first albums. But the way I’ve chosen to do this will hopefully illuminate where I’m coming from. Artists should own their own work for so many reasons, but the most screamingly obvious one is that the artist is the only one who really *knows* that body of work.”
Titled Fearless: Taylor’s Version, the new album is set for release on April 9th.
