Post Malone Records Hootie & The Blowfish Hit “Only Wanna Be With You” And It’s Really Something…

Music

If you had Post Malone covering Hootie And The Blowfish for some kind of Pokémon bullshit on your 2021 bingo card, well… that makes one of you.

Originally released in 1995, “Only Wanna Be With You” was the third single from Hootie’s breakout album Cracked Rear View. Hootie went on to become one of the premiere ’90s rock bands and lead singer Darius Rucker, of course, went on to have a successful solo career on country music.

So back to Post…

Post is set to perform at the Pokémon Day 25th-anniversary virtual concert this Saturday, and in conjunction with the celebration, he has released this cover, dubbed the “Pokémon 25 Version.”

And as much as I really dig the artisty of a dude like Post Malone (a BIG country music guy by the way), the whole thing is just so out of left field. Although, I will say… changing the Dolphins line to the Dallas Cowboys is pretty awesome.

They don’t ’em like this anymore…
