Family cat dies in Reseda house fire

California

A family cat perished in a house fire this week in Reseda.

On Wednesday, March 3, 26 firefighters extinguished the blaze at the single-story home on the 7700 block of Geyser Avenue in 18 minutes, said Nicholas Prange, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

LAFD firefighters attacked the one-room fire from both inside the home and from the roof, he said. Firefighters searched the home and found no one but did discover the deceased cat, Prange said.

The fire’s cause was under investigation.
