Justin Bieber Has Won More Country Music Grammys Than Eric Church (Seriously)

Music

Oh, what a world…

During last night’s Grammy Awards, we saw John Prine, Billy Strings, Miranda Lambert and more take home wins in various country and country-adjacent categories. But we also saw Justin Bieber win a Grammy… for country music.

His collaboration with Dan + Shay won Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

Justin fucking Bieber… winning Grammy Awards… for country music.

Bringing his grand total of country music Grammys to 1, that’s still one more than a number of deserving artists like Pasty Cline, Kenny Chesney, and even Eric Church, who has been nominated 10 times.

That’s right people, Justin Bieber has more country music Grammys on his shelf than Eric Church.

This guy…

More country Grammys than this guy…

We’re doomed…

As Eric has said before, music is much bigger than awards shows. In fact, he said it like this:

“I believe that music is the most powerful thing in the world. It transcends language, it’s transcends politics, it transcends stupid-ass trophies that I don’t care about.

Because the most import thing that music does is it saves a moment in time forever. And there’s nothing you could ever give me that I would trade that for.”

And I agree… but Bieber? Gimme a fucking break.

That being said, Eric is set to play the Grammy Salute To The Sounds Of Change virtual concert later this week with Chris Stapleton, Brad Paisley, Leon Bridges, John Fogerty and more.

Hosted by Common, the two-hour special will feature:

“Songs that have seen us through the darkest hours and greatest triumphs. Artists across genres will highlight the stories behind, and deliver personal interpretations of, the powerful music that inspired social justice and equality.

Also, presenters from the worlds of entertainment, art and activism will look back at some of the most iconic Grammy performances and moments in history.”

“A Grammy Salute To The Sounds Of Change” will broadcast on Wednesday, March 17th, three days after the Grammy ceremony.
