Parker McCollum.

The Limestone Kid is arguably the fastest growing name in country music right now with his signature Texas country sound that has garnered mainstream appeal. From his 2015 The Limestone Kid album to 2017’s Probably Wrong, and now his 2020 EP Hollywood Gold, it appears that Parker is gonna be a mainstay in the industry for a long, long time.

And today, he’s giving fans an opportunity to go behind the scenes of “Young Man’s Blues.”

In the video, he talks about honest songwriting, and how he does what he can to translate his personal experiences into his songs.

“So a lot of the songs that I’ve written on this EP and in the past, things happen and I write songs from what I’ve lived, and it always seems like whether a few months or a year later those songs are relevant again.”

McCollum explains how his songwriting mindset translated very well to “Young Man’s Blues,” giving fans a look into what he was going through personally while figuring out what he was going to do with his life.

“All you’ve ever known is being a kid, all you’ve ever really been good at is being a kid, and now you have all of this responsibility and you’re trying to handle it the right way and grow up and get after it, and I’m still trying to figure it out.

That’s what I mean when I say ‘Young Man’s Blues,’ I’m still going through it right now.”
