Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 516 new cases and nine new deaths as of March 22

Los Angeles public health officials reported 516 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,214,683 as of Monday, March 22.

Officials said there were nine new deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total 22,806 deaths since tracking began.

A total of 3,595,939 vaccinations have been administered in the county as of Sunday.

There were 42 fewer hospitalizations reported since Sunday. The official count of hospitalizations remains at 750. That’s an 90.7% decrease from the Jan. 7 high of 8,098 people hospitalized.

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
