Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 366 new cases and one new death as of Monday, April 5

Los Angeles public health officials reported 366 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,222,447 as of Monday, April 5.

Officials said there was one new death linked to the coronavirus, for a total 23,276 deaths since tracking began.

A total of 4,945,462 vaccinations have been administered in the county as of Monday.

There was one more hospitalization reported since Monday, bringing the official count of hospitalizations to 591. That’s a 93.4% decrease of hospitalizations from the Jan. 5 high of 8,915.

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
