Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 752 new cases and 48 new deaths as of April 9

Los Angeles public health officials reported 752 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,224,503 as of Friday, April 9.

Officials said there were 48 new deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total 23,431 deaths since tracking began.

A total of 5,526,116 vaccinations have been administered in the county as of Thursday.

There were 32 fewer hospitalization reported since Thursday, decreasing the official count of hospitalizations to 540. That’s 93.8% fewer hospitalizations from the Jan. 5 high of 8,915.

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
