Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 411 new cases and 2 new deaths as of April 12

Los Angeles public health officials reported 411 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,226,191 as of Sunday, April 12.

Officials said there were three new deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total 23,479 deaths since tracking began.

A total of 5,743,089 vaccinations have been administered in the county as of Sunday.

There were 22 fewer hospitalization reported since Sunday, decreasing the official count of hospitalizations to 470. That’s 94.7% fewer hospitalizations from the Jan. 5 high of 8,915.

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
