Music

Need chills? We’ve got some right here.

There’s something special about Riley Green. Yes, his songs have traditional country sound, he’s got very clever lyrics and rocks a killer mustache, but there’s something more to it.

He has this energy about him that his fanbase absolutely eats up and amplifies. From dive bars to sold out arenas, and every stage in between, Riley’s created a cult-like following that’s turning into national success.

The best example of this intense love his fanbase has is his live performance of “I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died” in front of a sold-out crowd in Phenix City, Alabama.

Playing in front of both his grandmas, the connection between him and the should send shivers up every living person’s spine…

Before the performance, he told the crowd they’d be shooting a music video for the song that night and why they chose that night…

“We were talking about shooting a music video for my latest single which is “I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died”…

Some of these folks at my record label were talking about what kinda video we need to shoot and I said “Hell we’ll go down to Phenix City and let all these rednecks sing along with me” so if y’all don’t mind, I’m gonna let you be my music video.

I wrote this song about my two granddaddies, my Granddaddy Lyndon and my Granddaddy Bufford, and my two grandmother’s who were married to those two great gentlemen are sitting over here on the side and this might be the first time and the last they get to hear me play this song this fall, so thank y’all so much for letting them be a part of this.”

This is a piece of music history… a moment that will never be replicated. In his home state, in front of thousands of people just enthralled by every song, every word, but especially this one and these words… Makes me wanna jump up and scream “War Damn Eagle” and also give my grandparent’s a call and just talk for awhile…

Riley Green, you and your fans are something special.

Keep it going man, we’ll see you at the top.
