8 hurt, 6 hospitalized after multi-vehicle Van Nuys crash

VAN NUYS — Eight people were injured in a collision involving four vehicles, including two that were parked, in Van Nuys on Monday night.

Firefighters were called to the 7400 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, near Valerio Street, at 10 p.m., according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Six adults were taken to hospitals, with two declining to be taken to a hospital, Prange said. Five of the hospitalized patients were in moderate condition while the six was in fair condition, Prange said.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to free several patients, Prange said.
