Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 3,498 new cases and 28 new deaths, Aug. 11

Los Angeles County public health officials reported 3,498 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,335,332 as of Wednesday, Aug. 11. The total number of cases represents 13.3% of Los Angeles County’s population.

Officials reported 28 new deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total 24,833 deaths since tracking began. The total number of deaths represents 0.25% of Los Angeles County’s population.

There were four more hospitalizations reported since Sunday, bringing the official count of hospitalizations to 1,573, with 22% in ICU.

According to the California Department of Public Health’s vaccines dashboard, 63% of Los Angeles County is fully vaccinated and more than 11,544,029 vaccine doses have been administered as of Aug. 11.
