Government offices – Los Angeles city and county, national and state – and courts, libraries and schools are normally closed for the Labor Day holiday.

Banks: Closed, as are New York Stock Exchange markets.

Transit: Buses and subway services in Los Angeles run on a holiday schedule (for example, the Metro B Line: bit.ly/3vcnntt; www.metro.net). Metrolink trains will operate on a Sunday schedule (bit.ly/2DfZDPF). www.metrolinktrains.com
Trash: Pickup schedule in Los Angeles will be delayed by one day: Monday’s trash will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday’s trash will be picked up on Wednesday and so on through the week (800-773-2489; click on What We Do, then Collection and then see Holiday Trash Collection here: www.lacitysan.org).
