Sticking to their word.
When some artists began to require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test at future concerts, The Steel Woods made sure that they were doing the opposite.
They posted a message on Instagram saying that they would refuse to play at any venue that would implement a Covid requirement, and then there was that whole controversy with Johnny Cash’s daughter after the group used a picture of him on their post.
It got pretty heated…
They eventually took down the post and reposted the same message with a picture of the band instead.
However, the group has stayed true to their promise to date, and released a statement on Instagram:
The Steel Woods will continue to not support venues that require vaccines and COVID tests for entry.
We hate to lose opportunities to play in front of fans but we feel strongly about our position.
Unfortunately, we are backing out and not able to join Whiskey Myers for the following shows:
11.7 Denver, CO @ Mission Ballroom
11.12 Santa Rosa, CA @ Luther Burbank Memorial
11.13 Ashland, OR @ Historic Ashland Armory
11.14 Eugene, OR @ McDonald Theater
11.20 Houston, TX @ The Terminal
Bummer if you’re in those markets… would’ve been pretty badass to see Whiskey Myers and The Steel Woods share the stage.
