Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 1,142 new cases and 19 more deaths, Oct. 14

Los Angeles County public health officials reported 1,142 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1,474,518 as of Thursday, Oct. 14. The total number of cases represents 14.6% of Los Angeles County’s population.

Officials reported 19 more deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total of 26,372 deaths since tracking began. The total number of deaths represents 0.26% of Los Angeles County’s population.

There were 26 fewer hospitalizations reported since Wednesday, lowering the official count to 658.

According to the California Department of Public Health’s vaccines dashboard, 70% of Los Angeles County is fully vaccinated and more than 13,089,968 vaccine doses have been administered as of Oct. 14.
