The LA Big 5K — 5 kilometers or 3.1 miles — course went from the Chavez Ravine stadium through Elysian Park and back again. The event was open to all ages and abilities and includes runners, walkers and people pushing strollers. Children, primarily for ages 3-8, had their own event with a 1/4 mile run that started at 9:30 a.m. from the start line at the stadium, out to a turn-around spot, and back to the stadium.

The runners enjoyed a Finish Festival after the race in Lot G at Dodger Stadium. Awards were given to the top two men and women racers and also to the top two men and women racers in the 15 age divisions. Participants were also able to check out the Health and Fitness Expo, with official Los Angeles Marathon clothing and footwear for sale and vendors exhibits showing new athletic wear and health products.

The next LA Big 5K race is scheduled for March 19, 2022 at Dodger Stadium. The next Los Angeles Marathon is scheduled for March 20, 2022 and is scheduled to use about the same 2021 course.
