The 38th annual Granada Hills Holiday Parade returned live on Sunday, Dec. 5, after being a virtual presentation in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The crowd at this year’s “A Charles Dickens Christmas”-themed event enjoyed the musical performances, drill teams, equestrian units, vintage cars, community groups and a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The grand marshal was pluralized to marshals this year as members of the 1970 Granada Hills High School football championship team were given the honor of riding in the 1.8 mile-long parade on Chatsworth Street.
The parade route began from its traditional start at the corner of Chatsworth and Petit Avenue and moved west on Chatsworth to Zelzah Avenue, with a turn southbound on Zelzah to Kingsbury Street next to Granada Hills Charter High School.
The 37th annual parade, “Favorite Holiday Memories,” was a “best of parades” video presented online.
